1998-99(Jvgirls)East Central 2A Conference Champions

The Clinton High School womens atheletic department added a jv team to the
program this year which should provide big results in the up coming seasons.
The (jv) lady darkhorses took the East Central 2a conference by storm posting an amazing 11
The squad was led by center Shantel Grisson who averaged 12.4 ppg 7 reb 3 blks,
Shantel also led the team with the most double - doubles (7)
you go Shantel.Marquita Whitehead who was the team's floor general( co-captain) led us by example ,That it is better to give than recieve.The exiciting point guard led the horses with 41 assists and was very stingy when it came to defense.(with 32 steals we ought to call her clepto.Coach Fox is looking for some of that same production next year,when she takes control of the raines.Although Shantel Grissom was the obvious defenseman on the team,
we were led by Sissy Simmons great defense in the back court this year.Sissy caused more than 39 turnovers with her harassing style of play.She also was second in assist with 30 and as the teams shortest starter she finished the year with 14 blocked shots.( This young lady plays the game.Loretta (LA) Adams was a force in the middle daring anybody with the heart to bump heads with her.We called her the enforcer , every team needs one and Loretta assumed the roll.I never saw anybody at her age that could muscle up with young men and posses such a soft touch on jump shot.
Coach fox will be looking to use her strenght to take the conference next year.
The jv program is fortunate in bringing back six players next year which will give us a great chance to repeat as conference champions next season.The team will be looking for Brittany Ammons and Pamela Tart to handle the one & two positions for the 1999-2000 season.Pamela Tart who possess a great looking jumpshot and passing skills, has the experience to handle back court pressure that most freshman can't.Brittany Ammons who has the previlage of running the point next year for the jv lady horses, knows the offense and has a nack for hitting big shots when the team needs it.Brittany shot 80% from the floor and 49% from 3 point range.Dikia Harmon will more than likely be the go to woman this year for the lady (jv) horses.Dikia 1 of 5 starters this year will be returning as the floor leader. Dikia who was the teams 4th leading scorer 3rd leading rebounder adjusted well in her roll as the 2nd and 3rd option.She played excellent as the back up center for the team on several occaisons and she can drain the tri-vector with the best of them.Shooting 36% from 3 point range and 52% from the field , she will be more than enough for opposing teams to handle.
